“I started running to improve my fitness and hopefully burn enough calories to counteract the rubbish I ate!!………..

I first joined Run Club on a whim of  ‘oh go on then, I’ll give it a go’, when my good friend Amanda asked me to go with her. Not thinking for a minute that I’d actually be able to run at all but thanks to Ally and the rest of the group’s support and encouragement, I did it, I really surprised myself and I loved it!

After that I really looked forward to Tuesday group sessions and added an extra 2 or 3 runs into my week when able to.

I did my first 10k in November 2014 and raised over £600 for CHSS!! I was only able to do that due to the support and encouragement of Ally and the run club gang and I’m ever so grateful to them all!!……

I’ll never be a great runner but I’m a better runner now than I was sat on the sofa a year ago and I would encourage anyone to give it a go!!

I love running with the run club gang and always say…

…………….it’s fun, it’s fitness, it’s free and it’s my something for me”!!
