“I started running because someone told me I couldn’t!!…..
When I first started, I couldn’t run the length of myself and was encouraged by Zoe and Lyndsay, my daughters. I started with a mile as my first goal and entered my first 10k, where I managed 52 mins for my first race. I then entered a half then a full marathon then decided to enter another.
I’ve now ran over 60 races including 18 marathons which incorporated a double marathon as in 2014 I ran 2014 miles for charity, it literally nearly broke me!! I’m still paying the price!
I love running, I’m absolutely passionate about it and I love helping others realise their potential, which is why I started the running group. I don’t want thanks nor recognition for it, as I believe that if you have the ability to do something well, it’s your duty to pass that on, which is why Run Club is and always will be free!
I’ve lost count of the amount of folks I’ve got started running, but it’s a good feeling when I see them out and about treading the streets..knowing I was a part of that life changing habit and I will keep going as long as my legs are willing….
……Running is my therapy”
